Driving home yesterday I shifted from 4th to 5th and the clutch pedal immediatly went soft. I could not shift into any gears. I coasted into a safe parking area and walked the last mile home.
I got out and there is some smoke comming from the engine. It's smelled like brake fluid and the car is leaking some fluid on the chasis. My guess is a busted hydralic hose for the clucth. Anyone ever done one of these, seems pretty simple. Got the car flat-bedded home.
Gonna get under it tonight and take a better look to see what exactly went boom. :cry
Re: Ack! Cant shift, clutch gone limp (Aaron71771)
While I haven't replaced the clutch hydralics, I have bled the clutch, there's not much to the system. I'd just punt and order a new master and slave cyclinder and line, if one part already died, what's the odds something else is going to go next.
