86 window not going low enough to remove outer sweep
Hi guys. on both of my doors, the previous owner just kind of placed the out window sweeps on and loosely screwed them in. it loose, and needs to be correctly rivited on.
problem is that the window is not going low enough for me to access the screws to remove them? I need the window to lower another 3/4 inch??
any ideas?
i have seen online guides for doing this operation and their windows are clearly low enough to drill out the rivets and install new ones.
even with the anti rattle pads removed, my glass isn't low enough.
I don't recall the issue when i did mine, but at the time i replaced the plastic ribbon, i left the window in place while i pulled the regulator assembly for the work.
I remember it was very tight, but i was able to get my dril and rivet gun in there...

Thnx Gibbs. I am going to leave it for now. I have the door and the window closing perfectly so i don't want to mess with it.
I wanted to ensure that the outer sweep had even pressure along its mounting surface and i have rivited the ends but can't get to this area.
if anybody else comes along and has solved a similar issue please reply here.
