Default CC503 Install List

Hey guys, I know this has been covered a thousand times and I have read almost all 1000 of those posts haha. I've been contemplating installing a cam in my 94 zf6 for quite a few months. Can I get your opinions on my list?

Camshaft - Comp Cams 503 - $277.72
Valve Springs - Crane - 10308-1 - $222.24
Cam Bearings? Should I replace mine?
Rocker Arms - Scorpion - 1036 - $299.97
I am aware they are SA, I don't intend on spinning over 6000ish rpm
An assortment of some gaskets ~ $75
Valve Stem Seals - Fel-Pro - SS72527 - $19.94
Optispark - Petris - $399.99
Water Pump Rebuild Kit - $49.99
Timing Chain - Cloyes C-3228 - $86.45
Dyno Tune (I know the tuner) ~ $200

Said and done I'm looking at $1,700 not including fluids. Does this all look right?

I do not currently have headers but I intend to get LT's

About the opti and waterpump - I would wait and look at the condition
of the opti. If the opti is in good shape, get a cap and rotor. AC Delco part no. is D327A and is $216.79 at Rockauto. As for the waterpump, how old is it? If original I would probably opt to just replace the whole unit.

When I replaced my cam, after a few WOT runs, I broke a rocker arm stud and bent a push rod - fortunately no other damage. So I installed a set of ARP rocker arm studs and Comp Cams pushrods. It's been a couple of years with no problems.

I ended up replacing all the gaskets on the engine except for the rear main seal. For the water pump seal, I had used the sharpie trick the first time I had to pull the opti some years back. When I did the cam, I picked up the little tool from Ebay which was actually easier to use -

When removing the intake, make sure that the little "****" on the old intake gasket that hold it in place come out. If they haven't all come out, put rags in the lifter valley and head ports so when you get it out, it doesn't go inside the engine. It happened to me but I got lucky and it bounced into the lifter valley where I found it.

Check fuel injector seals since it will all be apart.

Good luck with the install.

I intended to keep the factory pushrods if the lengths wound up being correct but if it would be wise I will go to Comp Cams hardened push rods. I also intended on reusing the rocker studs but I can purchased ARP ones if they would be better for my application. Lastly, the car have 125k on it so I figured it would be a safe measure to replace the opti
