Default '92 LCD dash display

The orange LCD display has developed some erratic behavior- sometimes it works normally (usually on cold startup) and other times the display gets dim enough to be barely legible. Sometimes it recovers by itself while driving but other times not until the next cold startup, when it always seems to be ok for a while.

This is the second version of the LCD dash. I know the original ones were more likely to be a problem but I understand the newer ones act up too. This time, my go-to source, the FSM, doesn't address the issue. I'll be checking the G201 ground before I go for LCD module repair, just curious what others have found with an intermittent condition like this.

Please post your findings. My 92's dash has had a similar problem since I bought it. My dash blinks if you will. It doesn't actually go dark but the brightness increases and decreases all the time. It kinda flickers. I have never really gotten used to it. It drives me a little crazy.

Mine blanks out on occasion
a smack above it on the dash brings it back
considering the cost of having batee overhaul it I think I'll just ship it off

it were just bulbs id fix it myself but it's not in my case

Where can you ship it off to get it fixed? Mine is slowly getting dimmer.

Batee has a good reputation here on the forum. For what they are doing the prices seem fair.
