Default 88 cruise control question

My cruise control has been giving me issues over the past couple of years. It would work correctly only on a flat road. Now it doesn’t even do that. Should I have 12V coming to any of these wires at the Servo when the ignition is on and the cruise is switched on? The Servo is new.

I had a similar problem years ago and it was one of the vacuume lines under that part you took a pic of. Sounds like you have a vacuume leak in one of them. Mine was at the connection.

I replaced the top vacuum lines but not the 2 plastic valves. Hose connections at the Servo are fresh. I'll order those and see what happens. Thanks.

The above posts on having good Vac./Hoses is in the Direction as long as your electrically good. Just for a simple, the little hose should Have good Vac. the Larger one goes to your Brake Pedal/Clutch Pedal and should be a Plugged hose until Either pedal is pushed, Vac. is released Cruise is cancelled.

If you Apply Vac. to larger hose and it Doesn't hold find out why, Could be as easy as a rotted hose by the Battery, or a out of adjustment pedal switch/valve. I have even seen the Large Cruise hose be cut length wise against the pedal Mount

Hi

As others have mentioned have a look at the vacuum hoses, they can crack from the heat in the engine bay.

In my case it was erratic like you mentioned works and would cut out at random, got worse over time and i found the cruise control brake switch contact had broken. See picture below, check the switches ensure they open when the brake pedal is depressed and close when they brake is released.

One switch has a vacuum hose and electrical , the other 2x electrical connections connections.

NOTE the instrument cluster is in the cruise control circuit, check the easy stuff first then if it comes back to instrument cluster check with Batee's website, see link below.
