I have some frame rust. It just began this summer. It's on the frame just below the battery tray. It's not due to the battery - apparently I have a water path leak, from either the driver's side winshield washer or just a bad rain seal.
That's why I'm leaving rusty water spots on the garage floor just behind the left front wheel.
I'm going to pull the gill panel and battery tray, and wire wheel the rust spot. I want to hit it with rust-converter anticorrosion paint afterwards.
Does anyone have any firsthand experience with a good product?
I use alot of eastwoods rust primer .It was called corroless until a few months ago but now I forgot the new name .Within 36 hours you can paint over it without sanding it .I also have heard good things about por-15 But I heard its messy( doesnt wash off ) and turns chalky after a few months . :yesnod:
I heard alot about different brands and I found this web site to go to to ask these type questions.
Examle,Rass-o nil or a brand name along those lines seems to fit the bill for rust fixing.Sorry the exact name slips my mind but youll see it a topic on the web site im posting below. These guys tried eastwood,Por-15 rust treatment and etc and had their own conclusions for body and frame rust repairs.
