Default A/C compressor issue?

When putting my 26,000 mile '84 away for the Winter last Fall I ran the A/C for a few minutes just to keep everything lubed/moving. I noticed the A/C compressor kept kicking in and out-something it had never done before. When I took it out of storage this weekend it has the same issue. The A/C kicks on/off every couple of seconds. I had a new compressor and changed to the approved refrigerant about 10 years ago but I suppose it could have gone bad again. Maybe there's a leak in the system or the refrigerant is just low? Any ideas?

It can be a many things that cause this, Low on gas, a bad High or Low pressure switch, a Clogged Orifice.

So with out a set of A/C gauges to give some sort of incite it's Guessing.

Yup, still when it's low on juice it cycles on and off quickly.

OK, thanks for the input. I'll be bringing it to the dealer for an oil change in the next couple of weeks and have them check it out. Hopefully just low on refrigerant. I try to run the A/C on a regular basis to keep everything lubed, but sitting so much and with age not in its' favor there will probably be more things acting up.
