what did i do wrong?
put an open lid kand n filter, 165 thermo, and chip, fuel milage went from 26, 27 at 65 to 19,18 at 65. whats up with this? new fuel filter, new pump, and its tripping a 44 code. lean exhaust. do i need to go to heated o2 sensors? car seems to run fine. good power, starts right up, no lag. oil runs 210, water 180. any ideas? thanks robert

Definetely check/replace your O2 sensor(s). Same thing happened to mine a while back - lost gas mileage with upgrades. Replaced the O2 sensor and got better gas mileage than ever. :cheers:

According to the first post, you replaced the chip. What prompted the need for a different chip? Was the chip prepped for your set up? Those darn chips can send the O's and 1's chasing around the computer and 'doin lots of different things, like injector on times, fuel mapping tables, etc.
If you changed air or fuel flow, a new chip may be necessary. If it's basically stock fuel and air flow, I would consider changing back to the old chip and see what happens.

This is just a thought but you might want to try to reset the computer since you changed several things. Disconnect the neg. battery cable for a while and then hook it back up (I think this will reset the computer) and see what it does. Can't hurt anything. If that doesn't work I'd go with the O2 idea.
