Default Oil level sensor connector help

Hi guys....this has me stumped, how do you release the connector from the oil level sensor? Can't seem to get it to release! Thought about snipping the 2 wires and reconnecting them with a crimp joint. 93 LT1

There are 2 cavities in the end of the level sensor. One cavity for the actual 2-pin connector and another for the latching mechanism.

here's an eBay offering for the level sensor that you can ZOOM etc to figure it out.

For some reason the eBay link doesn't stick so if you just do an eBay search for GM# 10137676 you'll see several results and most are ZOOMABLE to inspect. You'll for sure see what's involved in the "unlatching" operation. GM# 12579982 will get you images also.

ACD PT169 is an old part # for the correct connector.
