I got a couple vacuum hoses on my '84 that are not connected(like that when I got it), anyone have a vacuum diagram that they could post or email me. Would like like to get them all hooked up right.
I repainted mine...changing a few of the rubber parts...after complete...I noticed my door side molding and rear side bumper moldings showed all the dents in them, with the new Black paint job....
Have ordered all the molding replacements...but cannot find in any of the manuals I have, How to go about changing them....
Any tips???????????Sure would help me.....so afraid to mess up the interior or the paint...
Thank you for the compliments Anthony. It was lots of heart felt work. Started off I was just going to spruce it up a bit, and then it snowballed. Anyway, the door moldings are bolted on at each end. You may need a swivel to get the bolt on the hinge side. The rest of it is double sided tape with guide pins. (You will see what I mean when you get the new ones) On a warm day after you unbolt the trim, just rock it up and down. After 18 years that glue shouldn't be holding to tight. You may also need to squirt some Goof-Off if it is stuck and to clean up the old glue after you remove the trim. The remaining pieces are just bolted in, squirt some WD-40 on them, if you get lucky the bolts should come right off. If not the bolts spin with the studs, as the studs are only mounted on a thin piece of stainless steel. What I did when that happened was grab the molding with a pair of vise grips and pull the plastic piece from the stainless piece then drilled out the stud. Just be careful you don't get it to hot or you will melt something. You shouldn’t have to go inside the interior to replace any moldings except to open the door to get the above-mentioned bolts. Good Luck
No...you do NOT have to take the door panel off....Open your door and look where the hinges connect to the car...you will see one bolt coming through where the trim is...remove that one...then move to the opposite end where the door meets the jamb (on the door not the jamb) you will see another bolt where the trim comes through the door...remove that one also. Then the rest is double sided tape. Goof-Off can be had at any hardware store (Lowes, HomeDepot) http://www.goof-off.com
Are you saying that on the doors their are only the two bolts and that I don't have to take the door panel off???
I will give you a word of caution...wait untill you get the new moldings before you remove the old ones...They may have told you they are sending you the right part...but what happens if they made an error and its the wrong one...then you find out the part was discontinued?
If you click on anyones screen name on the left...another window will pop up and usually the email address is listed.
