well are there? i've seen a couple different part listings but TPIS for example only lists one part, are they the same for the 95-91? also does the same go for the air idle control valve?

Re: are there any differences in the TPS sensor 85-91 (gtsyellow)
gtsyellow,
The TPS for 85-91 is the same. SENSOR, THROTTLE POSITION (TPS)
It is adjustable as 65Z01 mentioned. It can be purchased in a kit from GM also GROUP 3.339 SENSOR KIT, THROTTLE POSITION. The kit includes 2 new TPS hold down screws.
The IAC for 85-91 is also the same.
It too can be purchased in a kit from GM as GROUP 3.338 VALVE KIT, IDLE AIR CONTROL. The kit includes a new IAC gasket.
Re: are there any differences in the TPS sensor 85-91 (Raistlin)
well I have checked into this also...as I too have a 1990....the judgement is really out....and I am still kinda confused....I have seen the kits and even my manual shows how to use it and ADJUST IT....but proofs in the pudding...I looked physically at mine....and there is no way it is adjustable....the screw holes are simply that....just screw holes...there is no curvature to slide the sensor back and forth on...as in the older models.....there is just the holes....so its position is locked.....as for getting one with the adjustability....hmmmm i dont' know if that would work honestly...the older and newer cars came with MAF's....NOT THE 90 OR 91....iam wondering if this has played a part....because the system is speed density and controlled by the computer....therefore TPS is also regulated by the computer....its either on or off.....if I remember correctly....
Re: are there any differences in the TPS sensor 85-91 (TALMADGE)
i have a spare of a 1989 TB, worked just fine, slightly different part number but the car is running great. i was lucky enough to buy a miniram & 52mm with all the rails and sensors for $600 awhile back :D just tried the IAC and TPS from the 1989.....works wonderful on the 1990

Some of the 5.0 Mustang guys have had a similar problem, not able to get the voltage high enough, so they simply elongate the holes to give the needed increased adjustment.
If you've got to buy one, though, it would be better to buy the correct one instead of trying to modify one not meant for your year car. Or course, if someone gave you one, etc., well . . .
