Can someone enlighten me on what internal damage can be done from using Nitrious? I am pretty mechanically inclined, but not familiar with NOS. Thanks.

Re: NOS question? (toondaddy)
You will probably get a more informed answer from someone in the C4 Forced induction area but the main issue (as I understand it) with Nitrous is leaning out. If you have insufficient fuel (be it through incorrect jetting, not enough fuel pressure, or something going astray) you can lean the motor out and do engine damage.
Also if you get too greedy with N20 you may at the very least do in your piston rings. It could get alot nastier than that though.
Alot of care has to be taken with N20 to make sure your car is tuned properly and in good condition to minimise the chances of a N20 accident.
There are plenty of safety measures available such as rpm window switches, timing retard controllers, and low fuel pressure cutouts but there is still room for bad luck to intervene.
Well, I am talking about "big boy" rules here. Over time, what kind of wear and tear on internal parts? I guess that is a vague question, but I would like to have the Boost, but not the damage.
Just be sure to run all the safety switches then look to the guys in the nos section for more info on switches and don't run much more than 150 horse boost and you should be ok.. with stock internals or so I'm told..Do your homework on this subject before you blow holes in your pistons..Basically if your cars fuel or ignition system cannot keep up with the load you will experience firsthand what a new motor will cost..
