Does anyone know where the receiver module for door remote is located in 94 C-4?
For some reason, although I lost the remote, jarring motion opens the lock and remote is not even in the car!
Maybe there is a second remote that fell under the seat?
I know if you leave your keys in the car and the doors lock, all you have to do is rock the car and the PKE wakes up and opens the door, of course this only works with a fresh PKE battery.
, Yep, that would be my guess. Check the nook and cranny for another remote. Sensors are in the Doors for a vert, or driver door and back bumper under hatch release for coupes. And the receiver module is located behind the DIC on top of the CCM inside the dash.
This symtom showed up after driving in the rain. As car dried out (2-3 days), symtom went away. then I washed the car 2 days ago. Now, its doing it again. Something in the door getting wet seems to be causing this.
any thoughts???
If it's pouring rain my locks will start acting up. I think my problem is that the passenger side window doesn't always seal off completely. I've had 2 issues where I got out of my car and closed the door with my keys in the car. The windows immediately go up and the doors lock. It's quite embarassing when you're in your friend's parent's driveway and your friend isn't home.
This pke thing is new to me. You only have to rock the car? What is a pke.
Passive Keyless Entry...the little remote that when you walk up to the car it unlocks and walk away it locks its a motion sensor of sorts when you leave it sitting in the car without the keys in the ignition it will lock the doors and your stuck locked out but all you have to do is hope you can shake your car enough that it will rock the key to unlock the doors. I did this in mine but I couldnt rock the car hard enough to get it to unlock since my pass and rear antennas dont work for some reason(but think I found why). You have PKE also it came out in 92 if I remember correctly. I have a 93 with it.
Just checking, but I've seen a "few" people that didn't realise there is a storage area in the doors. Have you looked in there? Lift up the arm rest on the door. Also, my locks act funny if the door pins aren't working properly.
Yes. I've check both side storages, storage behind the seat and under both seats.
Strangely, everything is normal when the car is completely dry(inside the doors).
It sure sounds like the remote is hiding somewhere in your car but you can turn off your Passive system. The instructions should be in the manual.
Believe there are receiver antennas in the rear panel behind the carpet, below the retractable cover and in the driver's door. Do not know where the relay system is.
PS: Learned my lesson well. Now keep a spare door key in my wallet and when working on the car, the keys are on the roof. Overweight by 20 lbs and still could not rock the car enough to trigger the system when it locked me out.
This morning power locks were really going crazy. Unlocking both locks and turning the interior lights on everytime I hit a bump. Then it hit me! Door switch. Somehow, door switch(one that turns the lights on and off) was closing the circuit briefly when it should be open(when the door is closed). This made the whichever computer controlling the security system to think that I have opened the door and was shutting the door w/ the key in the ignition. This causes the computer to kick both door locks open and briefly turn the interior lights on.
Almost identical to shaking the car when the transmitter is locked in the car.
I made a spacer and put it behind the door swich which increases the distance between the contacts within the switch and now car could be bouncing all over the place w/o locks acting up.
Thought I would share this w/ you guys just in case.
