89' - Hurst Shifter install - Help
I have removed the console, x-brace, exhaust.... but I can't remove the upper boot
. I have removed the 4 - 11mm nuts, and the metal around the boot.Need some help, so I can remove the boot - anyone ?
Just be careful and start at a point (like the right side rearmost corner because it is easy to get to) and pull it out and up. Once it starts coming loose, continue working it all the way around.
The driver's side is very close to the console edge so it is tough to get off or back on this edge. Just be patient and keep working at it. If you use something sharp like a screwdriver you may puncture or tear the boot. So be careful. I used some popsicle sticks that seemed to help some.
Good luck.
