Default Good Headers with simple easy install?

C4 stock exhaust manifolds got to go. Does anyone know which headers are the most simple to install? y-pipes? crossovers? Got to drop the exhaust system so now the time. lol

^^ interested in this comment here.

are you saying LT1 manifolds flow really good like headers?

do the bolt holes line up?

for those of us willing to delete the air injection, they might be great if they are high flowing and bolt on.

do they line up with the L98 front y pipe correct?

when my buddy did work on his '89 and didn't want long tubes or the expense of shorties I had heard about the LT1 manifold fitting 99.9%. That .1% is that one of the holes in the flange need to be "ovaled out"

Side by side I couldn't believe the difference between the L98 and LT1 manifolds

LT1 Exhaust manifolds are certainly an improvement over L98. But Longtubes are still the way to go. Not to mention, almost all LT1 manifolds are cracked at the inner 90 degree bend on the outer primaries. Design flaw that you can't see due to the heat shields covering them up.

From what I have read shorties are a waste of money. Long tubes are the way to go.

I suppose one could put their hand by the manifold while the engine is running to test for air leaks. I'm thinking my LT1 may have this problem by the way it's sounds while idling. Any other simple ideas on how to check?

Shorties are usually a waste, unless you live in CA.

TPiS longtubes are probably the easiest.

I would say TPIS also. The bosses on the bolt holes would certainly make installation/removal a lot easier..............and allow you to use your factory braces (unlike the other brands).

For this reason alone, I would say these are hands down the best.

I ran hedman headers for a while, and they suck too. They fit, needed a little dent here and there, but the flanges on the head and collectors are cheap quality. Bent all of them. With a headers hanging down on a lowered car, if you hit something, there is a lot of leverage there to bend stuff. The collector flanges were so easy to bend by tightening the bolts down. Just a real POS. also had to use header bolts, which on this car is a real PITA to tighten down. on the #8 cylinder.

For the price of the TPIS, you can buy like 7 sets of hedmans.

- what you don't want to do is use the wife's medical stethoscope - I made that mistake -

speaking of TPIS long tubes, what's the cost? from their website, they are not available until later this month. no price listing.

Default headers for 84 vette

I'm using hooker and they are not the easiest but they are ok.using stock pipes cut to suit and beat to fit, cat also the special bolts with wings so they wont come loose. mufflers are polished with duel outlets. Nothing special but looks nice
