Default CFM required for 300RWHP performance?

Hey guys my Lingefelter and Chevy Perfomacne books I bought from Amazon have not arrived yet so I am wondering about the amount of CFM that the system needs to flow from the plenum thru the runners and thru the heads. This to achieve 300RWHP

This may be a whacked out question so slap me if its

No clue, but you'll need about 365 at the crank.

I have both those books and don't remember seeing any clear numbers.

I dun think thats an exact science.
I've seen cars with BONE stock engines and just a supercharger
and they flew enough for 400+HP at the Rear wheels even.
Even If you get enough flow for like 240cfm+ through the heads,
more than 800 through the TB/plenum (800 is a VERY good port job with 52mm TB I believe), it won't help get to 300HP at the wheels unless you change at least the cam in there.. You need to worry about flow #'s once you already have the 'demand' of your engine for them. Going the other way around won't help you much..

The heads will be ported to at least 240 CFM and I will use a Super Ram with a cam that is right for the setup!

I guess I probably have answered my own question. The SR will flow in excess of 240CFM as will the ported de-screened and de-finned stock Throttle Body. So the heads will create some back pressure in the system. I will wait for flow numbers on the heads to determine the cam specs.

You're overcomplicating things. :) My heads are ported D-ports with larger valves also. Pulled 322rwhp (388 bhp) without any tuning.
