In Summit Cty, Ohio and Cuyahoga Cty, Ohio and other counties it is 25 yrs.
SO Yes.
Do you think I would post that up if it weren't true ? In 2022 I do not have to have the car checked again. Actually it is every other year. On odd years, they do odd year cars and on even years, even. Also, regardless of year (odd/even/25 yrs or less) every time a car changes hands, it gets E-checked. Only cars that are new up to a couple years old are exempt.
We have to go to the facility, they do a visual and then machine inspection before issuing a certificate that you take with you to go get your license plates on the annual renewal.
No certificate, no plates.

there are ways around it, collector plates is one. you have to go through the steps to get them
I also want to know if I get a check engine light, that I can connect up to and diagnose the issue.

epa checks should be an urban thing only

dizwiz24,
a lot of the particulate and other pollution that both Summit and Portage get is from I-76 and all the truck traffic. we also get particulate pollution from Akron-Canton Airport. We don't have any industries left here and Ohio Edison tore down the last coal fired generator that was on the Cuyahoga River.
WELL,
I received the answer from OTC regarding my scan tool. Unless the LSx PCM is programmed to look just like the LTx PCM, the scan tool won't read it. SO, if the scan tool won't read it, then the EPA software won't communicate with it.
I guess back to game plan 1, the LTCC unit.

Right, the software that emissions testers use looks for the correct pcm. You won't be disappointed with the LTCC. It needs a good optical sensor in the opti but eliminates the high voltage side. I've had zero issues with mine.

I know the thread is a week old, but I also wonder how one would get codes on the torqhead. And will they read like this, c36,h36? Also, I asked them about 92 and 93 C4 LT1 cars. They told me they have not made an LS PCM for it because the pins in the the 92/93 ECM are different than the 94-96. Makes me wonder if they will make an LS PCM for the 92/93, and will they still stay speed density? Don't me wrong, I think it is AWESOME what they have done.
