Default reading trouble codes on a 94

hey guys, Im alittle confused about OBD I and OBD II. I have a 94 with a 16 pin connector Ive read that that is an OBD II connector but the car is just OBD I compatible so my question is what all do I need to read my trouble codes, all I can find are OBD II code readers.

thanks for any help that you can pass my way.

From David-F on this subject:

You can't jump A to B on a 94 it uses a 16 pin ALDL connector you have to jump 4 to
12 which is the 4th from the left on the top row and the one just under it. Then turn
the key on and watch the speedo were the speed is displayed and you will be able to
read code in 1.1 CCM, 4.1 PCM(ECM), 9.1 ABS/ASR, A1 SIR.. Then let us know what
you find and let us know and we can go from there.
