I've got a 96 Z28 that's been bored 40 over, I'm running a 550 lift cam on intake and exhaust. My heads are getting a full race port and polish and I'm running 1 3/4 long tube headers. I'm wondering if 42 LB injectors are too much?

I'm not sure why this is in a Corvette forum, but I have a 406 with more cam, shift at 6600 and am running fine with 36lb injectors.

42s will work but will be harder to tune as they actually are a bit big for your motor. I run 30 lb Ford injectors on both my Y and F body 383s.

..... FYI , The early 405hp Z06 Vettes ran 28# injectors ... your '96 should have 24's and they would work with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator .....

If you run those injectors, you are going to have to tune. Have you found yourself a dyno facility that does tuning for your car? If so, have you tried asking them their recommendations?
