Started my fresh motor today for the first the time. First, didn't want to idle at first so I bumped the idle up a little, but I noticed that I do not have a tach reading. I think my idle problem maybe caused by the 2034 compcam and the 1:6 rockers on a stock eprom, I think??? As I let the car run only for a short while (just running shorties) I noticed I have no tach reading. The cluster is reading fine during it's self diagnostic check during start-up. I checked the tach connection on the distributor and it seemed fine. Where else can I check...also will the 2034 run on the stock chip?
scorp,
as far as the tach filter, you must be referring to the capacitor that is mounted to the bell housing. I may have gotten it pinched, because for some reason that wire gave me the most trouble trying to mount. What plug does the tach connect to the ECM?
