C4 track only, looking for cheap engine upgrades
I've looked through a number of threads and everyone is trying to upgrade the engine but keep the ecu, cross fire, etc. We've already ripped everything out, running an rpm intake and an edlebrock 650 carb with a distributor.
We would like to do heads/cam/intake for under 600 bucks. What are the best takeoff heads from any generation sbc that will bolt to the block? Would just having the l83 heads ported out and putting some higher ratio rockers on be better than swapping heads? The engine spends it's entire life between 3k and redline.
nothing has to be street legal, nothing needs a computer, just looking for cheapest, simplest horsepower upgrades. Exhaust can be fabbed up, intakes can be swapped, etc.
