Default Ring and Pinion Swap

My '94 C4 Convertible is fun to drive but with it's 2.59 gear just doesn't have the "Zip" I wish it had. I'm considering changing to a 3.54 or 3.73 set up for the Dana 36. Are there any issues I should be aware of other than the obvious speedometer gear change ?

Thanks

You will need a tune to have the transmission shift correctly and to fix the speedometer. The transmission is controlled by the computer so it will not shift correctly if you just add in a speedometer frequency converter to fix the speedometer reading. It will rev too high between gear shifts.

Any suggestions on a tune?

Get the software and hardware to do it yourself. On the software I use "Tunercat" there is an "easy button" that allows you to correct for the speedometer error and then automatically adjust the transmission tables at the same time. If the gears are the only change then that is what I would do.

Roger that...familiar with tunes...using Diablo on my 2016 Yukon.

Can you recommend a source for "Tunercat"

Thanks

You can just search the net for Tunercat, you could also look at TunerPro, it can be downloaded and used for free.

Great stuff...and thanks. Any way to tell if I am Old style OBD1 or OBDII ...other than counting pins?

Count the pins but I believe all corvette's are the 16 pin new style connector. If you buy the Y-cable it will have both style connectors so it will work in all OBD1 1994 or 1995 cars from GM (Connector wise).
