Recently bought a 91 Convertible, currently it has long tube headman headers. The remainder of the factory exhaust has been removed, i have all the parts. I'm gonna put the 'vert on tire cribs, remove the X brace do my exhaust work and re-install the X brace. My intent is to install my tpis Y pipe, attach to the original 3" single pipe (and new magnaflow cat).
Any reason i cant remove and re-install the X brace with the car on it's tires?

I've removed the X-brace from my '94 ragtop several times with the car on a Kwiklift. No problems.
Live well,

I took it off yesterday, now i'm working on completing my long tube header install. Using Headman headers with a TPIS 3" Y tube to the center 3". Should be an interesting little project.

Since it's off, and if you have access to a welder, consider boxing the X-brace. You'll be amazed at the difference it makes.
