tires?
has anyone put the kuhmo ecsta supra tires on their vette? ive got a set of the optional magnesium rims to put on my yellow lt-4 car and was wandering about a set of tires such as kuhmo that may provide the performance of the f1s or pilots without the price.

I installed them when my Goodyears wore out. In my opinion, they are excellent tires. Mine is a daily driver. I've had the tires for about 6 months and have no complaints. I am a highway driver (2 hours a day) and regularly cruise over 80. Good wear, good looks, good traction. I can't see why anyone would want to spend twice as much, unless they are taking the car to the track and driving twisties all day. :cheers:

the price is a lot cheaper than the well known brands but i dont want to give up performance for a 300 to 400 $ savings on a set of tires since i do plan on attending some open track dates at road atlanta

The kumho ecstas are very good tires. By your post is sounds like you're getting a second set of rims. I would suggest that you use your old ones and put a set of Kumho Victoracer V700s on them and you can use those to, at, and from the track. Then put the new rims with ecstas back on for daily driving. They handle very well in the twisties, but aren't as sticky as Michelin pilot sports. I have the Kumhos on my porsche, and love them. (Couldn't put them on the vette because i need a 315 in the rear).

Go to http://www.tirerack.com and check out the new Kumho Ecsta MX. Lightyears ahead of the Kumho Supra 712.
