Default Who can program a 1985 Chip?

Hello Everyone,

Within the next few days I'm beginning to install my new 350. The pictures show a edelbrock manifold and carb. That setup is removed and I have a Scoggin Dickey tpi manifold with the original TPI runners and plenum. I have a BBK 58 mm throttle body. All new Internals and roller rockers. With Cast Iron Vortec Heads. Running a 2 1/2 inch Melrose Exhaust into Borla Mufflers. I'm expecting approx 330 hp out of the engine.

What should i expect the engine to run like with the stock chip? Is there someone where I could get the chip programed to my specific specs of the engine.

THanks

Greg from Blower Works helped me with my 85 EPROM. He was great to work with.

My needs were simpler though. I would think maybe a dyno and a tune are needed?

just curious, is the chip in an 85 a ROM or EPROM? for some reason, I'm thinking its a read only and would have to be replaced with a programmable equivalent. ???

I'm pretty sure it's an EPROM but not 100% sure. I had a new one flashed and sent since they are so cheap it's not worth shipping back and forth.

The 85 chips are kind of a PIA due to the plastic carrier they are installed in. If you bugger the pins just a smithgen you are screwed ! lol That said you can buy 1 time chips or EV erase chips for your vehicle. Getting harder to find but still can. I recently did a couple of 1985 chips for C4 forum customers with some standard edits. I'd be happy to do more but I'd have to charge you $100 ... that said just tell me what and we can see ?????? greg

Still a deal at $100 for a custom tune. Factory tune on eBay selling for more than that.
