Default How to replace the ignition switch in a (c4) 1985 corvette

I have seen much discussion about the replacement of the ignition switch but I am confused.

I now believe that the ignition switch must be replaced from below, although the switch is on top, removing the dash pad does not give access to the switch because of AC venting.

I have also read that "Dropping" the steering wheel / column will help however I have no idea how to do that.

Has anyone seen a step by step with )or maybe even without) pictures of an on car service of the ignition switch of a C4 corvette?

Let's start with the term Ignition Switch, The Ignition Switch is Located on top of the steering Column reached from the kick panel , The Ignition Cylinder is located in Hands reach behind Steering wheel, requiring Steering wheel to be removed and disassembly of top of Column. So which are looking to replace.

The Switch (under Dash Top of Column) is a bit of a Knuckle cutter. First Disconnect the Battery, Some of the car's Big Voltage comes to this point so Error to the safe.
You will need a 1/4 Drive socket set maybe some of the smaller wrenches. (Dropping/Dipping the Steering Column down may be needed to get access)
Disconnect the wire unbolt from Column remove. The replacement should come with a Little pull tab on it the instructions will tell you which position to have your Cylinder in I believe it should be the park/key out position. put switch on aligning the switch rod and Snug down remove the little tab. Connect the wires, Test if all is good finish the assembly DONE
