Default wheel fitment question

Ok so from my searching it looks like the bolt patter is 5x4.75 and a 15x10 will fit with some caliper grinding with a 6.5 back spacing on 85+ corvettes.

I have a 84 and to use the the 90 corvette saw blades and my C5 vetter wheels I need to use wheel spacers to set them out far enough. So does anyone know what back space wheel fits an 84 corvette without spacers. Or should I just run my spacers with the 6.5 back spacing.

I believe your 84 has the same backspacing as my 86. 16x8.5" rims are 32mm backspace while 16x9.5" are +38mm backspacing. If you pull a wheel, I believe it should be cast on the inside of the rims.

Here's a place where you can plug in what you have vs. what you're considering: https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/

I used that along with others to figure out mine when I upgraded earlier this year. Went from 16x9.5 +38 with 245x50zr16 tires to 18x9.5" +40mm C6 Z06 replica rims with 255x40zr18 tires. Fit like a glove. Same diameter, same basic depth and width as the oem wheels. I personally don't like to use spacers so this my best solution.

If you plan to use those C5 rims, pretty sure you're going to have to use spacers as I believe they are +56mm backspacing. Can't tell you the thickness needed but IIRC others have said it's around 3/4".

To use factory C5 rims you'll need the adapter as the offset is 56mm and you'll need 38mm (or very close).

You can find manufacturers who make C5-style rims in those offsets if you like. Look at OEWheels. Remember, you want an adapter and not a "spacer" if you go that route.

I already have the c5 wheels with adapters. I am wanting to buy a Jegs 15x10 drag wheel for my drag radials and need to know if the 6.5 back spacing is what I need for the 8 corvette without using spacers.

Go here and put in the numbers. Looks like you'll be about 10mm off from a flush fit.

You can keep putting in numbers until you get to the correct offset range, probably 7"

http://www.joby.se/corvette/div/corvette_wheels/

Bolt pattern is 5x4.75

Stock 1984-1987 wheels:

16"x8.5" 32mm (6.0" backspacing)
16"x9.5" 38mm (6.7" backspacing)

With 15" wheels you might not be able to use as much backspacing at the rear because of the knuckle for toe rod.

I did some measurements on my 1984 with 16"x9.5" with 255/50-16 tires,

It is 32-33 mm from dogbone to tire. The long nut in the picture is 30mm flatside to flatside and 34 mm corner to corner.

The bracket for the rubber stop is closer but easy to trim for clearance.

If the wheel you want is available in a 7" BS that would be as close to be a considered ideal match. It would split the 1/2 difference equally with a 6.35mm (1/4") loss of inner clearance when compared to a 9.5" early C4 and push the outer 6.35mm (1/4").

You haven't defined "flush" so it's impossible to calculate that for you.

Fitment is generally more accurately calculated using a specific tire/wheel combination undersatnding the math involved and "do it yourself".
