I just bought a 1995 c4 corvette convertible. the front tires which are Firestone 255/45 17- on 17x8.5 stock factory rims do not match the rear, (brand wise) which are general 285/40 zr17 and this seems to bother me. so I went on eBay and found a new set of nitto G2 tires and bought them. now I am thinking I should get a new set of chrome zr1 wheels to put on to my new tires. i found a set of zr1 style wheels from jegs and the sales person said they do not have the wheels in the 17x 8.5 for the front, but I could use the 17x9.5 which in turn I would use 17x11 in the rear. Does this sound like I would have problems or issues with tires rubbing, scraping or any other performance handling issues?
Thanks, Scott

As long as the offsets are correct, you will not have problems with rubbing. The rears need to be 50mm. They might be 56mm and I think that should work fine. The fronts should be no problem at all. You could also run the 9.5" wheels all around, or the 11" (at 50mm offset) all around. This is handy for rotating tires, and I will tell you that 11" all around looks damn good.
The problem you may run into is that those tire sizes are not optimal for 9.5/11, or for either square setup. For 17x9.5 wheels you ideally want 275/40 tires, and for the 17x11 you want 315/35 tires. You could run the tires you have, but they are going to be stretched a bit.
