How Much HP will a Walbro 255 support ?
..... Looking for real life testimonials regarding the Corvette factory fuel delivery system and aftermarket high performance fuel pumps ... in tank or external ... and how much horse power is supported by what ... I'm currently running a Walbro 255 in tank to an Aeromotive A1000 on the frame and would like to eliminate the external pump ... How about the Aeromotive 340 ? Anyone use one with approx. 650 hp N/A ? ... any other suggestions ? .....
I know, i'm no help, just a bump really.

Walbro has a 400l/hr in tank pump now .That works out to about 100 gallons per hour.I had a walbro 255 on a turboed Datsun z car and had problems with it but it was externally mounted.300-350 would be a safe bet even though the online speed shops say 500.The best reasonably priced external fuel pump I have used is the bosch 044.Because of fuel slosh the best set up is usually a good in tank pump.

there are 310lph direct replacement efi compatible pumps available. I want to say that its an AEM pump. If you wanted to get rid of the external, you could probably run one of these or the aforementioned walbro 465 e85 pump. You have to modify the sending unit slightly to get the latter to fit but it's not hard.
