Default Differences in engine blocks?

I am kicking the idea around to buy a 350 block and start building another motor for my 86e because I know it is a matter of time before the original goes. What I would like to know is what are the differences in 350 blocks that I should look out for. I plan on building a complete motor minus the plenum, runners and fuel rails (and of course all accessories). Just wondering if any ole 350 block would work or do I need to look for one specifically for my model car.

i think all the SBCs up til the 87 were the same, when they introduced the roller cam. If you want a roller cam, you should get one of the newer ones, or a ZZ4 block.

Just for clarification, I know this is the case for vettes, but is this the same for say a 350 out of a truck, or would that not be a good idea. The way I figure it is a 350 block is basically the same it all depends on what you put in it, or am I wrong on this?

Quite a few of the 350 blocks out of trucks/vans/etc are 4-bolt mains. This is cool. Also the bolt holes for the camshaft thrust plate on the rollercam blocks are drilled in different locations on different blocks. Still at 3 & 9, but different distance from the center of the cam.
