Default SuperRam Question

This one is going to be bizarre to most.
I am wondering what the red circles are in the link below.
Also wondering if the green circle (and reds as well maybe) could be taken down, and covered/smoothed, to provide better flow. How about smoothing the whole surface inside there out. I am going to have a SR setup for a few months before it goes on the car (going to save for heads too). I would like to do any tricks to it that I can before putting it on. Its already ported by Lingenfelter (note, the picture isnt mine), but he probably doesnt have the freetime to work on it that I will.:reddevil

Hope this makes sense to someone. (as a note, no EGR on the car.)

The red ones I think are just from the casting, although don't quote me on that. The green one can't be touched. It is a bubble that your EGR valve sits under for clearance.

All the EGR stuff is already off the car and wont be going back on.

Since you have an SR and have been handling it the last few weeks, do those red circles have indents on the bottom or is the bottom flat there (to where they could just be ground and not need anything welded in the bottom)

Thats for the Temp sensor. Mine had a 6" or so connector that connects to that then connects to the harness. I think it had 2 round connectors on the harness side, and the sensor had two little wires out of it.

Take pictures of the unused conenctors and I will try to help. I have been dealing with my harness the last few weeks. And have all but one connector used (DOH), orange wire, single connector on end of it, any ideas? :p:

Those two things in red are to gain access to the "Y" under the plenum. This "Y" is the flow channels for the EGR. The way it works is...the EGR gasses flow from the exhaust manifold thru the crossover tube into the manifold. The EGR gasses then flow throw the manifold to the passenger side runners, and up the smaller center tube between the runners. Then the gasses go through the "Y" channel to just behind the throttle plates and enter the plenum.

So of no EGR, then the "Y" channel is not needed, nor are those humps on the inside. You could grind them off, weld up, and make flat, but, I think it would be a waste of time...

MAT sensor you. Manifold Intake Temperature. The wires on it are pretty long, you should have no problem getting it to reach. Perhaps it is snagged?

I will try to get some pics of mine in the morning if you like.

As for the SR modification. Time to waste is what I will have on it. I am going to take it to a shop in town and see about getting everything flow'd. Modify, port, polish, etc and see if I get any gains. If not oh well, gave me something to do with the dremel ;)
