Hi,

After removing the door panel on my 87 corvette, the power locks quit working.w The fuse is good, the power seat still works well. Please help.

Thanks,

Marilyn,

Welcome to the forum!

If your locks were working prior to the panel removal, and you disconnected your battery prior to the removal then my quick guess is that you did not seat your connection properly. There are (if memory serves) 5 different pins that need to be correctly seated in the connection. Although it is pretty fool proof, you would not be the first guy to misalign one of the pins casing the whole thing to not work.

Also, the pins get a bit corroded so while you have it apart, run a small file or sand paper gently over the connection pins to freshen it up.

I have something similar on my 93. Door lock switch worked ok last year but when started this year after battery was down, doors will lock but not unlock from either door switch. No sound or movement. I had replaced passenger door solenoid last year and worked great.
Can the switch be cleaned with electric cleaner?
