nope you can use the reg eprom the problem you wont have the lockup working for the converter because the harness at the computer down to the shifter is different it will all work but you just wont have lock up workingsome other things you have to addreess like the back up lights and starter interlock :cheers:

I did my 85....(4+3 to a 700R auto), It was a piece of cake :D
My lock up convertor works also. I dont know exactly how my budy did it. How my lock up works is he used the overdrive switch on the shifter to lock it up. To unlock just push it again. If you need to know how to hook up the lock up switch let me know and I'll get the info from him. I know it was just a matter of connecting a couple wires. We did the complete transfer in 1 afternoon. :cheers:
PS...my back up lights work and it starts.......again, I dont know exactly how my budy did it, but I assure you it was not a hard thing to do.
As for the computer chip. I just order one for a automatic insted of a manual.
