Well i decided to clean my motor today... so i took off my corvette pannels and noticed there is oil on the motor where the pannels where.. not alot but enough for me to notice... what do u think this could be? gasket of some type?
Oil leaking from the front of where the intake meets the block and blowing back (leaked from the factory on most LT1's)
Oil leaking from the back of the intake where it meets the block and moving forward (Also leaked from the factory but still not very likely).
Oil leaking between the intake and the heads (not likely, would probably be burning oil if this was the case)
Far too much oil being pulled through the crankcase ventilation system and possibly leaking from a cracked PCV hose (possible but would indicate a high amount of blowby)
Just plain leaking around the valve cover gaskets (most likely)
My car was a garage queen when I bought it....it had 27K mile son it but after doing a CarFax most of those miles were in the first 3 years!
So it spent the next 8 sitting in a garage most of the time....I had 3 leaks....first 2 have been fixed and the last one will be fixed Monday...I hope!
It was leaking around the oil sending unit....also leaking around the distrubutor....last leak is the intake manifold gasket :smash:
It is barely leaking at the intake but it is just enough to drip down on one of the pre-cats so I get that burning oil smell...ugh!!!!
