the bottom's came out easy. i can't seem to figure out the top. anybody done this? i can feel a spring retainer just like the bottom but can get it to move. thanks robert
There are a couple of clips, about a third of the way down, towards the middle of the cushion. I used a very small nail puller (looks like a screw driver with a notched tip) to unclip mine. Slide it behind the bolster, to the clip, and push towards the middle of the cushion. It should come loose very easily. I know this may sound somewhat dis-jointed...but when you figure out where the clips are, it will make sense to you.....
Actually, you can get your hand between the cushion and the plastic and feel the two vertical springs that hold the cushion to the back. I just used my hand to push the outer one toward the center of the car. Once you've released one spring the cushion will come out. :chevy :chevy
My '88 sport seats have those two upper and lower spring clips also.
In addition, the leather is stapled onto the seat frame from the outside of the frame. So you have to remove the hog rings that hold the outer bolster to the inner seat back. Then you can fold the leather back to access and remove those staples. Some "slick" design eh??
