1984 Corvette : Both speakers on driver side stopped working at the same time. Would this problem come from a broken wire at one speaker or from the radio selector switch. I am all ears fellas

First thing I'd do is pull the radio. The connectors on mine when I took it apart was pretty flimsy and came apart easily. Could be a pretty simple solder job right at the connector. You can use a voltmeter to confirm continuity of the wires from the connector as well. If there's not a problem with the connector or the continuity in the wires, you may have a bad radio.
Wiggle the bass and treble control ***** side to side, and slide them up and down. See if the bad speakers come back on. The speakers are paired electrically fronts and rears, not lefts and rights, so it would have to be more than one bad connection to affect both lefts.
The signals to the speaker outputs go through the tone controls. This was the problem with my 85's radio. I also recently wrote a thread on how to check the speakers (and their amps) through the radio connection rather than removing them from the door which is a very tedious project.
Thanks will give that a try sure hope it works was't looking forward to going into the doors
Has anyone found a good replacement for the Bose Radio and speakers? Well just the radio I know what I'm doing for speakers. The radio works, tape player not working, sound goes in and out(wiggle ****) and NO Bluetooth. The conversion kits look like crap I've purchased 3 different styles from 3 manufacture.
