Where are you located?
Theres a butt load of speed shops offering porting.
You wanna drive to the best or cover the freight?

I got a quote this summer for extrude hone, which is an abrasive material removal process. Very cool, but way too much for me.

Bingo!!! in 2017 DO NOT waste money on the stock tpi.
Decades full of people who ended up out growing the stock junk. Nothing about stock = performance.
I bought a MR and injectors for $650 one time.

If you are in California and need to smog the car you are kind of screwed.Anything that isn't stock needs a CARB EO number.Finding legal parts for an old l98 is alomost impossible.

I have the luck of having many engine rebuilding shops in Mooresville, NC (NASCAR country). I would need to pull the bill to be positive but I believe the cost of porting the intake, runners, and heads on my 88 was less than $300.

800 for a real aggressive job on the whole TPI isnt bad at all IF they are truly going all out
300 for heads and intake? Heads are usually 500-1k depending what you get done

Bill for rebuilding and porting back in March 2012.
I was a little off on my estimate for porting heads, intake,, & runners. $150.

-- about the best you can do is a little pocket porting and gasket matching. I doubt you'll see much in the way of SOTP. I remember seeing something about porting the factory TPI, and while they did gain some CFM, IMO, it really wasn't worth the effort.
