the above can cause the smoke coming from dipstick tube? and high pressure on the gauge?

will the compression test indicates if rings needs to be replaced?

It is ok to drive it with this condition (high pressure n smoke)?

THanks
I'd order a compression and leakdown test. That will tell us where the issue is. If the leak is in the head area, that is one thing. If it is cracked pistons or bad rings, that is another. Without the test, we can guess.

Updates:
done the compression test and found that cylinder #7 is problematic with 50psi only. And after replacing gaskets for the oil pan and valves covers and changing oil filter no oil leakss from those areas but noticed some oil spits from the dipstick tube with some smoke coming out... PCV working as it should.
does that mean the rings of cylinder 7 needs replacing??
Appreciate an experts feedback.
TIA

The leakdown test will tell. No one here knows if it is rings or in the head or a head gasket. Dan

My '90 L98 with 53K runs the same oil pressure on the gauge as your picture shows when the oil temp is minimum as in the pic. Once the temp gets to normal mine backs down to mid scale on the pressure gauge.

Thanks all. I guess I’ll be going for a rebuild!
Any suggestions/advise on requirements and preparations before opening it?
Is it a good idea to procure an engine rebuild kit before starting? And how to choose the right kit?
TIA
