Any trick to aligning the doors? My driver side door needs to be adjusted out at the top and in at the bottom. It doesn't need much and I would like to avoid making it worse than it already is.
Typically I loosen the bolts on top and bottom hinges leaving the top just a little tighter.
I move the door in, out, up and down till aligned then tighten one bolt at the top hinge.
Gently open and close until satisfied with alignment and gaps. You also need to open and close the hood. You need to do this with the window down as the glass and rubber contact will push the door.
Once happy, gently tighten (gently) all the bolts starting with one at the tops then one at the bottom--- too fast or hard will move the door.
I'm sure there are other methods, but this is how I do it. Gets beers, this will take a while.
floor jack holds rear bottom corner of door up and then you do as bill said. i think its 10mm with wobbly and go easy. no big adjustments. the "sweet" spot is reall small.
It almost looks like I can loosen the hinge bolts that I need with the door closed and the hood up and the battery compartment open. Up and down the door is fine, just needs in at the bottom and out at the top.
Might grab a six pack and tackle this tonight. I am on a roll with the car. I finally got the window rattle and targa top squeaks fix and only broke/cracked one piece of plastic in the process!
