Default some nagging problems

You guys were so quick with the right answer for my battery problem I figured I'd list a couple of other problems I'm having. First off, it's a 95 with 125XXX miles. I have a K&N airfilter, K&N oil filter, and run 5W30 Mobile Synthetic oil. I recently changed the plugs and wires because of a miss in the engine. I did not use factory original plugs and wires but they were spec. It only made a marginal improvement, I still have a miss, it's not consistent though, although it's misses more often that not. It idles at about 500 rpm's I'm also having trouble with the digital instruments. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't, sometimes is blank, but usually it just freezes at whatever number our display it happened to be on. The dash I can live with, but the miss in the engine is really annoying.

Sounds like your ECM is toast. That happened to me, all my gauges would act up, freeze, go to zero, whatever. The car would still run but if I gave it more than about half throttle it would spit and sputter along.

It's mostly a low rpm problem most noticeable under 1500 rpm's and it hestitates when i get on on it. Once it takes hold it still throws you into the seat and it is still fast.

Clip a timing light onto each plug wire in turn, trigger it and see if the miss coincides with missed flashes on some particlular cylinder.
