84 weatherstripping
Last year at Corvettes @ Carlisle I was able to get a whole set of the weatherstripping at a great price. The rest of the year there are places that have good sales like WILCOX Corvette or others who advertises on this site.
By "Targa Top" are you referring to the one large panel that can be removed that goes all the way across the car? Targa top to me makes me think of those two removable panels on the C3's.
I have a 1988 Coupe and I have the clear glass panel that covers the width of the car. I replaced all of the weatherstripping in my car. It wasn't too hard to do if you take your time and clean out the old gasket REALLY well. I repainted the securing strips from my cars rear roof gasket and rear window seal mounts. Just be sure to order the Glue remover to get the old contact cement off the car and the new 3M glue (Contact Cement) made for this job in particular. A good set of nylon scrapers can help in the removal and prevent scratches in your paint. Just be sure to use enough glue to hold the seals in place without the top on. I have seen seals lift up and fly away on cars where they did not use enough glue.
All the parts and materials are available through ZIP PRODUCTS in Virginia. They offer different grades that allow you to decide just what you want to spend.
Staying dry is nice in any car, it takes work to do a clean installation. There are plenty of YouTube videos showing how it is done.
I wish you the best in your project, do it right and you are done for another 20+ years!
