I'd look at Corsa, power effects, and B&B Triflows for a C4 depending on your preferences and power needs.
A relatively lightly moded C4 can use a Corsa. Looks good and good price. Not very loud vs. the others and 2 1/2" cat back.
For more flow, the power effects has 2 3/4" pipes and has the flow and sound adjustable via a **** on each muffler. You can tune it from a little louder than stock to much louder. Not as pretty as the others but effectively is two systems in one.
The loudest and best flowing is the B&B. It has 3" pipes and also makes the most internal resonating noise. This is loud enought to require louder than normal speaking volumes to hold a conversation while at cruising speed. It looks great and offers the best performance short of custom setups.
Hope this gives you some ideas.
I'd skip the borla, flowmaster, chambered exhaust, monza, etc. They aren't as good IMHO as the above systems.
Sounds like you have invetigated exhaust - no pun intended. I purchased my essentialy stock 89 L98 vert with the muffler eliminator from Mid America already installed. Previous owner trashed the original exhaust. Have to keep the cats - republik of Kalifornia - It is loud - but somehow it does't sound all that good and as a Harley driver I do like loud. How does the eliminator kit affect power and how does sound compare to B&B???
Thanks

Do you have anything that shows that the Corsa, Power Effects, or B&B outperform Flowmaster or Borla?
I looked at the flow charts a year ago or so when I was shopping for an exhaust. It boils down to pipe size and how restrictive the mufflers are. The borla large pipe 2 3/4" version should flow more than the corsa and around the same as the power effects wide open. They also make a 2 1/2" system that most of the makers quote as outflowing but since this is the smaller diameter pipe that would be obvious. The corsa, also having a smaller pipe, would also not flow as much as the PE, B&B or Larger Borla. The Flowmaster also has a 2 1/2" pipe and flow characteristics similar to the Corsa and smaller borla. Sound wise they vary greatly. The Flowmaster is very loud like the B&B and the Borla is somewhere in the middle. The Monza I heard was on an L98 and sounded like a rice car fart pipe. The Corsa sounds good but is quiet for most people's tastes. Since I wanted the quietest bigger flow system because I wanted to go stroker and then some I went to P/E. If I was staying relatively stock, with just a top end job or less I'd stick with a corsa. If it was a track car or sunday car and I didn' t care about the noise I'd have the B&B. Looks wise the B&B and corsa are great. Borla looks pretty good too. Flowmaster looks like a rain gutter and Power Effects looks like a pair of toilet plungers on each side. I'm going to either change my tips or have them Jethot coated to make them look better. I'd suggest going to a show and listening to the various exhausts. Also, take a ride if you can so you can hear the resonances. Borla's not bad but for the money on a C4 I like some others. And all these exhausts offer much greater flow than stock and most weight savings so you will have a performance boost regardless. Hope this clears it up a bit.
