Brake booster leak?
i have noticed lately that my brake pedal has been getting softer and softer. Sometimes it seems to travel closer to the floor board while I am at a stop, while holding the pedal. I have tried to pump it up, but really doesn’t do much. I am leaking no fluid, and it seems to take a harder foot pressure to stop then it use to. It has never seemed right in the five years I have owned it.
Also, I have been fighting a rough idle, and a little surging since I have owned car. I have posted a lot on this forum, trying to figure it out. I won’t go into all the things I have done and the money I have thrown at it, but if you can think of it, I have more then likely tried it. The point being is that when I press on the brake Pedal, the idle seems to get better. I hope it’s not just my imagination
could the two be connected? Does the brake problem sound like brake booster, if so how hard is it to replace?

When it finally goes completely your pedal goes to the floor and it is rock solid .... although you can still stop with a lot of effort. Happened to me. Maybe you have a vacuum leak to it but more than likely it's leaking thru the diaphragm.
Vacuum leaks are hard to track down but you can inspect all your lines and look for cracks. One place to look is at the cruise control module ... those lines are close to the battery and can degrade faster.
Good luck
You can find them on fleabay or digital copies. Get the searchable digital one ... not one big image file.
