The door locks on my 94 keep unlocking when I go over bumps. The door lights come on breifly and the door ajar light comes on fainly sometimes. I had thought the drivers side door switch as not making good contact and spryed it with WD40 now it moves in and out nicely. The switch doesn't have an adjustment so I put some washers under the screws to make it contact the door pillar more solidly. I am sure that the door switch is making good contact as when the car is parked the lights and door ajar light work as advertised. The problem still occurs when you go over a bump in the road and the door lights will flash for a second, the door lock mechanism was observed to either unlock both doors if locked or try to unlock if they were unlocked ( slide bar moves forward a little and you can hear it). Is it possible or has anyone heard of the door switch being flaky even if it seems to be OK whne not moving. Should I replace the switch or does anyone else think there may ba a problem elsewhere. I have the PKE alam system and it is arming and disarming as normal. Any thoughts?

First off, welcome to the fourm. You didn't mention if your car was a coupe or vert. If a coupe, check the switch for the hatch glass. It may be need adjustment.
Re: Door Locks cycle when going over bumps (Steel Blue 91)
My car is a coupe sorry I fogot to mention that. I will look at the hatch switch I didn't even think about that one. I will keep the board posted on the outcome.
Re: Door Locks cycle when going over bumps (RJMGREENC4)
the door switches in the 94 (and others) have an adjustable pin. use pliers or dikes or flat tip screw driver to work the inner pin out as far as is reasonable, the pin with adjust itself the first time you close the door.
YIKES!!! i just read your whole post. WD 40 is a no no! and washers just made it even worse. maybe too late to adjust the pin. WD 40 will make the inner pin slip, and washers will push it in even further. I did the exact same thing(less the washers). i had to replace the door switch. i have pics of this if you think it will help.

I have pulled the pin out and it reset itself against the post. It is working fine as far as the in and out and activating the lights and alarm. However when I pulled the pin out it has lateral movement form front to back and top to bottom. I started the car and actually was able to duplicate the symptoms by pushing in the pin (as if the door were closed) and moving it side to side (simulating possible road vibration from going over bumps} as opposed to in and out which I had previously been doing and is the normal motion of the switch. I tried this on the passengers door switch and it has no movement from side to side or up and down. I have ordered a new switch and will let you know what happens.

Well I thought I would be posting that my problem was solves...not! I replaced the door switch with a new one and the problem still happens. Just like you said the switch has a pin that goes into the outer pin when closing the door the first time. All seems ok when parked and playing with the connection and pushing the door switch in and out. However as soon as you go down the road and hit bump in the road ...boom.....door lights come on and the locks unlock.
I looked at the rear hatch switch as suggested but have eliminated it for a couple of reasons.
1. It seems to be making solid contact.
2. I can not duplicate the problem by manually closing the switch and moving the connection around to simulate a bump in the road.
I need help anyone with other suggestiosn please. I am at my wits end trying to solve this.
Re: Door Locks cycle when going over bumps (RJMGREENC4)
Mine used to do that...then my battery would be dead once in a while. It was a bad driver side door lock switch. Mine had the contacts shorted when the switch was bumped the wrong way.
Re: Door Locks cycle when going over bumps (Rich_01659)
I have looked at door and it doesn't seem to be loose. The gaps around the door when it is closed are all even and it doesn't seem to bounce. I am trying a door lock switch Monday and will certainly keep my eye open for this loose door possibility.
