If you read some of my past posts about my motor overrev, I initiall thought a bent valve/pushrod. Then progressed the theory to a stretched rod bolt.
Well,...upon dissassembling the motor. Found out it was a cracked piston. A rather large piece of the piston broke off as you can see,...and basically bounced/knocked all around in the cylinder beating the crap out of the piston and the cylinder head.
Just another picture of parts I've broken........
Car buzzed to about 7500-7800 probably, went lean, detonation, cracked piston. Most of the damage you see there to the piston is due to the large chunk of the piston bouncing around in there after it happened.
So I guess the head is trash too which is the reason for the Canfields. Looks like the piece was in the combustion chamber a while to beat the piston up that much.

Yup. The car was run a bit after it happened. Not driven really,...except up on a trailer, off a trailer, around a yard, and into a shop. The the car was run for maybe another combined 30min trouble shooting and replacing pushrods. Messed the head up about the same and did a number on the spark plug too.
