I know it's throttle body bypass. But what does it do to the performance or any other effects. The reason why I ask is because I work in a hardware store and some two guys came looking for some fittings and connectors in the plumbing department and they had a list of parts and instructions printed out for an "LS1 throttle body bypass" I asked them if it was a camaro, f-bird or a vette and they said it's a camaro. Also if you answer tell me how does it work in lamest terms. what happens once it is done. THANKS
Coolant is routed through the TB to prevent icing of the throttle plates in very cold and damp weather. Unfortunately this also heats the TB and plenum in all weather and heating the intake air is our enemy, when we seek as much HP as possible.
So we just remove the hose from either side of the TB, cap off the fittings and splice the inlet and outlet hoses together so that coolant still flows but not through the TB.
