Default 1990 runs rough when cold?

When cold the car is hard to stay running. Once it does start to idle on its own the idle is erratic. When you put it in gear you have to "2 foot" the gas and the brake to keep it running. It has a new fuel filter and good gas in it. The pump and sock were replace a year ago. The injectors are reman bosch's installed last year. I put a gauge on the fuel rail, it is around 36 and has held between 36 and 32 when sitting for 24 hours

After the car is warm these symptoms no longer happen with the exception of a higher than normal idle. The tach doesn't work so Im not sure what the idle is but to guess I would say around 1200 rpm's but is pretty much smooth.

Ideas??????

Thanks
Wade

This is where you start. Since the car runs poorly cold, but gets better as it warms, my guess is that your coolant sensor as stopped sensing.

The high idle may be caused by a vacuum leak but my guess is that it is still coolant sensor related.

About $15.00 and a 20 minute swap on a L98. Hit your AZ this morning and you will be happy by noon.

Yes I did a basic tuneup before last summer.

I have checked for vacuum leaks but haven't found any.

Check your FSM. If you don't have one, you need one.

Look under your TB. It looks kind of like a spark plug with a dual wire connector. Put on a socket and loosen it. If you work real quick (real quick) you can swap it with loosing a minimal amount of fluid.
