Optispark or computer?
I have a 94 LT1 with auto trans. Normal driving all is fine. While Autocrossing, drag racing or open track-driving schools as the engine heats up the problem starts to happen. At WOT and in the higher RPM range the engine starts to studder. As it cools all returns to normal. I'm about to replace the Optispark to fix the problem. My question is has anybody fixed this problem by replacing the Computer instead? That's the cheaper route. My car has about 55000 mile on it so I know it about time but I want to put the money in other parts of the car instead. I have installed the Hypertech themostat and Hypertech programing that seemed to slow the problem down, but it still happens. Thanks for your thoughts! :cheers:

Make sure your waterpump isn't failing and giving the opti a bath. I would replace the opti. The ecm could be bad but its further down the list for problems. Replace your fuel filter if its more than 2 years old. Check the coils on the injectors too.

Check for codes. It may have set an opti code and help head you in the right direction. (high resolution, maybe low resolution)
