Window is down and will not roll back up, need help.
Yesterday I rolled my window down and I heard a noise. I tried to roll it back up and could hear the motor run but the window would not come back up. This morning I took off the drivers side door panel and could not go any futher due to the shelding that hid everything. I've taken all the bolts loose that I can see and the shelding for the door handle and the lock are still in place. Does this need to come off? Can I put the window back on the track without removing the sheilding? I need to get the window up before it rains again. Thanks for helping. :confused:

The 'tape' broke. Same thing happened to me. You will need to take your door panel apart and replace the ribbon/tape.

Come on guys, I know that someone has had problems with their windows. Did anyone repair their own? Sure could use the help this morning. Thanks :jester

I couldnt find one when I was looking. I do however have a service manual that was pretty helpful. I dont believe the Haynes are of any use in this situation.
The ribbon itself was only like $15, but I ordered it from Jeff Kopp along with a few other things to make shipping worth while. I can see if I can find someone with a digicam and I can take pics of the pages you need or just type it out if that will help.

Thanks for the help and information. Looks like I got a lot of work ahead of me. One day I would like to work on what I want. But with each repair I am getting closer. Again Thanks to you both. :jester
