Auto to manual swap
Okay I'm putting a 6 speed in a 1992 that was an auto. Anyone have any advise or tips for me I've swapped trans before but never where I have to put in a clutch pedal or cut/trim the tunnel
Did you buy a C4 M6 donor or what?
If there's a better reason for wanting to do the swap maybe you need to explain. There's way more effort than you can likely imagine required to do this. I doubt a person could ever be really thrilled with the results either. Trim, fit and finish.
Not trying to be a smarta$$ but if the A4 is driving now I believe you sell and buy a C4 with the M6. Actually depending upon what you've invested in maybe some parts already and if you've not started you still sell and buy. If the A4 needs work I still think you repair the A4 and sell then buy a C4 M6.

Do you have the D44 and C-beam from the totaled also? How about the trim?
Pedals are different from '88 to '92 - so maybe you need to actually supply much more detail of what you've actually got. I likely won't post back unless I see a good bit more information. I ain't into playing tag.

Okay so the '88 is 100% complete and the '92 is missing the engine trans and ecu. The 6 speed is out of a 90 L98 I have the clutch pedal, master cylinder and c beam out of that car as well but I'm still looking for pedals from a 92 m6

I did the swap on my 95 and it looks factory from the inside of the car. It's not as hard as some people make it out to be. From the underside, you can see the seam in the floor where I cut it and bonded in the new piece, but it still looks good.
There are lots of good reasons for this swap. Mine was that I had put more time and effort into this cast than I ever would be able to recover by selling and trying to but an equally nice 6 speed car.
